VIIth Royal Rally of Classic Cars
After the six-year break, on 10.09.2015, from the starting point in front of the Palace in Jabłonna, VIIth Royal Rally of Antique Cars set off. This year, we visited Great Mazurian Lake Land!
Our base was an agrotourism farm household of the Potocki family in Gałkowo. The farm household is situated in the vicinity of one of the most beautiful rivers in Poland, namely the River Krutynia.
The rally was participated by 10 cars. As every year, most of the vehicles were British!
Apart from driving along the picturesque roads in Masuria, which looked even more beautiful at this time of the year, the participants had an opportunity to enjoy a Kurpie-style lunch, to spend an evening around a bonfire by the river, and to taste delicious goat cheeses, goat meat and home-made fruit liqueurs in the agrotourism farm household in the village of Polska Wieś. As well as those, we visited the vineyard in Gorło and the manufacture of ceramic stoves, and also the palace in Nakomiady.
Needless to say, there were sporting tests as well. In preparing them, we were kindly assisted by the Warmian-Masurian Motorist Club under the management of Mr Wojciech Fijałkowski.
We would like to thank all the participants one more time, and to congratulate the winners! Below, you will find a few photos. And everyone interested is invited to Warmia next year.
Welcome to „Pekin to Paris Rally”!
Jaguar XK 150, rebuilt in the company of Rzepecki Auto, overcame the way of 12247 kilometres over 33 days from Peking to Paris! This project wouldn’t have been possible but for the dream of the owner Tadeusz Wesołowski and persistency of Maciej Rzepecki. Over the year lasted the renovation and adapting the car to conditions existing on the way across China, Mongolia, Russia, Ukraine, Slovakia, Austria, Switzerland and France. Despite differences in opinions of both men, it was possible to build a highly durable and beautiful car. Simply perfect!
Tadeusz Wsołowski and his pilot Piotr Lubaczewski deserve special congratulations for surviving various difficulties of journey and transporting the car in one piece to the finishing line.
